"I went to the woods because I wanted to live deliberately. I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life;
to put to rout all that was not life and not when I had come to die, discover that I had not lived." ~Henry David Thoreau

Texas Day 1

-Went to church and being away from a Utah ward was like taking in a big breath of fresh air.  A different perspective felt wonderful.  Kids did excellent in Primary and Devin LOVED nursery.  As always, it was a much quieter ward than we are used to.

-Came home and Gov fixed kids a lunch of his classic PB&H sandwiches.

-Put Garrett down for a nap and the rest of us had our first official Texas swim of the summer!  Gov bought a super cool battery operated torpeo that will drag a full sized adult all around the pool.  The kids had so much fun playing with it and even Devin figured it out and loved zooming around!

-The wind started howling and there was thunder all around us.  We thought it was a good idea to get out of the water, and we did just as the downpour began.  Oh how I miss a good southern thunderstorm!!  Uncle Philip showed up just in time to dance in the rain with the kids.

-Garrett woke up and he wasn't too sure about all the thunder.  It was his first real experience with it.

-We cracked open the Blue Bell and had out first taste of the visit.  It honestly is the best ice cream in the country!

-Uncle Philip took the kids out to the garden and they picked some cucumbers, which he then cut for everyone to taste.  They were kind of bitter.

-The kids had a blast catching huge raindrops on their tongues!

-Garrett got stripped down to his birthday suit so he could air out a little.  I had lots of fun taking nekid pictures of him while he ran around and explored.  He loved sitting in the Adirondack chairs that his great great grandpa made a bajillion years ago!
