Hailey and Lauren had a fun opportunity this weekend to become "real" Utah cheerleaders. On Friday they spent the evening up on campus at a cheer clinic where they got to learn from the Utah cheerleaders what it was like to be one of them! The clinic was split by ages into three groups- 3 to 6 years, 7 to 13 years, and 14 to 18 years. Since Hailey and Lauren wanted to be in the same group, we told a fib and said Hailey was still 6 years old. Oops!
Their cheerleader instructors were Jordan, Emily, and Stephanie. They were so incredibly sweet! They did some fun tumbling exercises, taught them some simple stunts, and spent most of the time teaching them a dance/cheer routine that they would perform the next day during halftime at the mens basketball game against Colorado! They ended the night with pizza and it was a fun way to spend time with my girls!
The camp was in the HPER building and I took several classes there. It was so weird walking through the corridors with my little girls in tow. The last time I'd been in the building Ethan was in my belly. I felt like crying when I walked into one of my old classrooms- physical education teaching methods to be exact. The girls thought it was so cool that they got to sit in the desks and explore the room. They even drew funny pictures on the blackboard and thought it'd be funny when the college kids saw them on Monday. Gosh I LOVED being at that school! Cody and I have such a strong attachment to it because it's where we started out together. So many fun memories there. I loved my job on campus, I loved the students, I loved the classes, I loved the gorgeous scenery...I loved it all. I loved walking the halls and the grounds with Ethan in my belly during my final semester. The University of Utah will always hold a special place in my heart, and it thrills me to death that our kids love it too! GO UTES!!

Ah yes, they may love your school, but keep in mind that they also love BYU too. Fickle little things!
