"I went to the woods because I wanted to live deliberately. I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life;
to put to rout all that was not life and not when I had come to die, discover that I had not lived." ~Henry David Thoreau

Weekend Update

This weekend was pretty relaxed and low key. I love it! Ethan was pretty sick on Friday due to an ear infection so we stayed home all day and I was able to get work done around the house. It's rare that we ever have a stay-at-home day and I really cherish them. Saturday was more housework and then we all loaded into the van and hit Costco and the grocery store in the evening. Today was Stake Conference at church and strangely it was held at 5:30 in the evening. We decided to play hookie from conference because it is soooooo much trouble keeping kids happy and quiet while sitting there for two hours with no break. So we ate dinner and went to the park instead. Judge all you want, but it was nice staying home from church this evening and having a stress free weekend.

This afternoon Ethan wanted to put on his Buzz costume and Hailey cried to wear Mr. Incredible. So funny because Ethan is way too big for Buzz now (look at his head busting through the top!) and Hailey is way too little for Mr. Incredible.
Today Ethan said "Mom look! I'm the Holy Ghost!" He was hiding under a big blanket just like he'd seen on the Charlie Brown Halloween movie. He then told me that he wants to be the Holy Ghost for Halloween. What a silly boy!
Me and my girls on Friday. Hailey's hair looks pretty dang cool here :)

Ethan has been great lately about cleaning up his room when asked (Hailey is not so great!) He doesn't put things away like I would, but I'm happy that he is so willing to help most days. He was proud of himself here.

My dad brought these shelves up from his workshop at home and spent two days getting them put together, level, and anchored into the wall. They aren't much to look at because they are old, but this house could come crashing down and these shelves will still be standing. They are dang sturdy. Cody spent Saturday morning sanding and painting them and now they look great!

your kids are so cute! We didn't go either to stake conference - we enjoyed ourselved outside and felt that we had really good family time.
You will love having shevles!

Dave makes me go alone, and then I come home and tell him what was said...That way I can listen! I love the dress ups:) Braden has a superman costume (hand me down from a cousin) he uses when Tina gets into fru-fru dresses.
I love getting more storage space! Those do look very sturdy.

I'm with you on Stake Conference...we made the same decision after hearing basically 2 talks between the 2 of us....Alan got upset when he asked when do we get to go to primary and we told him we don't. "you mean we just sit here the whole time?"

we had stake conference in our new stake too! i also played hookie and took the boys to the park. i'd rather them get the wiggles out at a park instead of them running up and down the aisles at church.
